rose is a rose

When I have babies and they need names, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna go right down to the cemetery and stroll among those beautiful old headstones and when I notice one that's extra crumbled and weathered and whose engraving I can barely make out, I'm gonna take that eroding, etched word and give it brand new life.

What if the old, eroded name is Bertha? Or Gertrude? Or Dorcas? I don't care who they were or what they did in life, nobody wants the name Dorcas.

My mom's aunt always wondered why they named me Ethan when the family was in need of a "Verdine" or "Orabell".

lovely thought, but I now blame you for getting that song from Saturday's Warrior stuck in my head.

a rose is a rose like a nose is a nose, as everybody knows.

it's torture!

When we lived in Logan, right across the street from that gorgeous cemetery, and I was pregnant we actually walked through it multiple times and looked to the names. There were actually a few good ones. :) I think it's a good plan.
