I fish now.
I've been wanting to make my summer more American and I thought fishing might be a good step towards that. It is so fun and I love it. I got myself a year license and bought a pole and a little my-first-fishing-trip kit with all kinds of colorful thingamajigs in their own little plastic compartments. I don't know what most of them are for. I'm not really interested in getting good at fishing, or learning about fishing, just in going out and doing it. So far I have gone twice and caught a fish twice. The first one was some teensy little thing my friend told me was a "cuh-roppy." I have no idea what word he was actually saying. I should have asked him to spell it. But last night I caught a catfish that was 14 inches long. It was one of the best things I've done. Anyone want to talk really non-technically about how fun fishing is? That's all I'm looking for here.

You never cease to surprise me.
I know nothing about fishing, but in high school we used to go to a pond stocked with blue gills and used pieces of hot dog as our bait. Worked like a charm.
Seriously, who doesn't love hot dogs?!
joel is a great fisherman and would love to talk fishing anytime. especially over a salmon dinner that he caught. :D we'll call you next time we've got some on the grill.
I would like to go fishing with you. You could show me the non-professional ropes.
Well, I always like to use a nice dobbler henshaw lure when I'm going for catfish, what about you? One time I was reeling in a cramblin' trowler, and had use the peekon stance just to keep my line from breaking! Can you believe that?
Tracy, this is Uncle Steve, I read this book about a woman and fly fishing and thought you might enjoy it also.

I just recently got into fishing too! You should try using a "Jake's Spin-a-lure" in gold or silver with red dots. They're my go-to lure on pretty much any lake. Also, I think your friend was saying "crappie" (it's pronounced crop-ee, not crap-ee... although I still say it that way because I think it's funny).
Anyway, don't know why more chicks don't fish... I kick my husband's butt all the time!
